Default Charters Towers MAGS Droughtmaster Sale on again

It was a sale of real celebration at Charters Towers on Monday for the group of vendors who make up the MAGS Droughtmaster Sale.

Their 10th anniversary sale event was their best ever with a 100 percent clearance of lots and gross proceeds of nearly $900,000.

Buyers travelled from all over Queensland from as far away as Gympie, Charleville, Roma, Moura, Rockhampton, Rolleston, Cloncurry, Sarina, Mackay, Nebo and Clermont to bid freely on the large offering of bulls and on stud heifers at the sale's gala dinner on Sunday.

A sale top price of $27,000 was paid by Peter and Ann Woollett, Pegasus Park Droughtmasters, Millaa Millaa, for the two year old sire Glen Ruth Ferrari, a class winner at this year's Brisbane Royal Show.

The night before, Vale View Droughtmasters, Manumbar in Southern Queensland paid $4750 for the 16 month old heifer Lamont Keepsake that was sold for the benefit of the McGrath Foundation.
