Insider Info

Hello and welcome to the May edition of

We know you only just received our SUNDOWNER wrap up edition of KAGE
Communication but we have some very exciting news.

Earlier this month KAGE's world premiere season of LOOK RIGHT THROUGH
ME was announced at the Malthouse Theatre. We told you it was gong to
be a huge year for KAGE and here we are delivering on our promise.
Two world premieres in one year!

Tickets are on sale now, but stay tuned for all the insight into the
final development stages of this new work which is being made in
collaboration with Micheal Leunig.

Look Right Through Me

Look Right Through Me tells the simple story of a young man who has
lost his way. After a long night he wakes up to find himself in an
unfamiliar setting, a broken and lost man. As he retraces his way
home, chance meetings give him relief and cast a gentle light on the
world to which, until now, he has been blind. Each moment of human
connection, be it an outstretched hand or a clenched fist, informs
every act for his survival.

Conceived and Directed by Kate Denborough
Creative Collaborator: Michael Leunig
Composer: Jethro Woodward
Set and Costume Design: Julie Renton
Lighting Designer: Rachel Burke

Co-devised and Performed by: Craig Bary, Fiona Cameron, Timothy Ohl,
Cain Thompson and Gerard Van Dyck

Thanks also to Kristina Chan, Adam Haddow, Sarah-Jayne Howard,
Maryanne Lynch, Luke Smiles and Paul White for their involvement in
the initial development stage of this work.

Michael Leunig Collaboration

Give us music when we expect trouble.
Give us tears when we expect breakfast.
Give us dreams when we expect a storm.
Give us a stray dog when we expect congratulations.

Michael Leunig is an Australian poet, artist and philosopher whose
instantly recognisable cartoons hold a particular place in the hearts
of readers. Now, for the first time, his unmistakable take on the
world will be transformed into a living, breathing, three dimensional
experience. In this world premiere production, Look Right Through Me
dances the delicate line between brittle whimsy and soul-searching
angst, maintaining a lightness of touch while nudging at Leunig's own
irrepressible humanism; a willingness to face life without defences,
with all it deadly, delirious wonder.

Malthouse Theatre Launch

On the 2nd May 2011, Artistic Director, Marion Potts, announced
KAGE's return to the Matlhouse Theatre. Following our multi-award

Merlyn Theatre with our inimitable style of visually stunning
explorations of humanity through dance theatre.

Sundowner Video Footage

To switch back to the other KAGE show that recently premiered, KAGE
has now uploaded a short excerpt of Sundowner onto our website for
those of you who were not able to make it.

We hope you like the small section that you will see and that you get
to see the full show, live, soon.

Insider Info

In other news, KAGE is already starting to work towards another new
show. While only researching at the moment this work will see KAGE
returning to their past. Is that enough of a cliff hanger for you? We
hope so.

KAGE also want like to congratulate Gerard Van Dyck and his wife
Ineke on the recent arrival of their new baby boy Arlo.
