A Charters Towers' bull rider will be the only Queenslander to compete at the Professional Bull Riders World Cup in Brazil next month.
Jock Connolly, who is ranked number 51 in the world, is recovering from a serious neck injury.
Mr Connolly says he expects some tough competition and will have just one thing on his mind when he leaves the chute.
"Oh, bear down and just hang on ... they're all just big bulls ... so pump the weights, that's all I can say," he said.
"Well I'm just on the mend at the moment after trying to snap my neck in half but I got a clearance from the doctor yesterday.
"I've still got a bit of physio to go through yet and it'll be another few weeks before I'm cleared properly and get on a few bulls out at home."
