Hi Folks,
I am a member of a highly reputable national offroad motorcycle club called the DSMRA. (Dual Sport Motorcycle Riders Association). We have a branch in Townsville and our branch has successfully worked extremely hard over the past several years to build longterm relationships with landowners and government organisations such as EPA/national Parks - so as to be permitted to ride our motorbikes in areas, not normally open to the general public.

We are on a continual search for new riding areas wishing to work with property owners etc to be able to organise the odd ride.

Our club consists of only licenced riders on registered bikes, we are extremely professional with our organised rides, carrying first aid, gps's and satallite phone for emergency situations etc. We take great pride in respecting landowner requests for staying on designated tracks, opening/closing of gates, respecting livestock and wildlife and not littering.

We also incorporate fundraising with each of our rides, often presenting monetary donations to designated regional schools and charitable organisations within our riding areas.. We want to give back to the community who are willing to support our club. Some landowners ask us to provide reports of the status of their fence lines, gates etc, which we are more than happy to do so... We are are happy to help clear tracks/or fire trails....

To learn more about our organisation please google (DSMRA Townsville) and it will be one of the first listings on the page...

Okay, well I will now step off my soapbox...ha ha ha... If you know of anyone who would be interested in allowing our club onto their properties, please feel free to email me.

Kind regards, Iesha

Kelly

Hi mudskipper, welcome to the Charters Towers community forum.

Your motorcycle club, DSMRA. (Dual Sport Motorcycle Riders Association) sounds like an organistation that would go out of its way to look after the environment, respect people's property and given rules if allowed to venture into a cattle station. To help speed up your search, could we suggest that you contact a stock and station agent such as Elders.

Elders.

Maybe you could ask them, or others similar, if any cattle station owners in the local area would be interested in your idea. Maybe provide them with your details and if you have any, references of landowners and government organisations you have dealt with in the past.

Hope this has been of help.
Kelly.

Hello Kelly,
And thank you to the lovely warm welcome:)
I have been following this forum for a while now, and love the community feel...Congratulations to all who have contributed !!
A fantastic forum :)

And thank you for your suggestion. Yes, indeed, our club is particular about promoting the positives to our sport and demonstrating that there is a large contingency of motorcycle riders who indeed are respectable and responsible.
The brunt of our club memebers are over 30 years old, however we do have lads in their early 20's who are riding with their dads...

Okay, well I will get in contact with Elders and see if they can be of any assistace.
Thanks again for your welcome :)

Cheers! Iesha
